Take Back Action Fund is a section 501(c)(4) organization that educates the public about, and lobbies for, restoring the United States election system to a republic as envisioned by our founders by changing our system of campaign financing and procedures, consistent with conservative principles.

Some strong conservatives with deep experience in politics, campaigns, and government believed in the educational effort of Take Back, but sought to advocate policies and candidates to implement specific solutions – activities which go beyond the scope of the efforts of Take Back.

The Action Fund will organize those volunteers who want to engage in those activities. It is an organizations not organized for profit but operated exclusively for the promotion of related issues under Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code.

We will work to defend and advance campaign finance reform that empowers voters and encourages higher voter turnout arises from a conservative, market-based political philosophy. As in any market, we believe that greater participation leads to better results, to innovation, and to a system that works better for everyone.

Mark McKinnon
HK Strategies

A self-proclaimed Media Guy, Mark McKinnon has been solving complex strategic challenges for causes, companies and candidates, including George W. Bush’s election and come-from-behind re-election.

With Bush trailing John Kerry, McKinnon conducted a press briefing from campaign headquarters to defend commercials centered on President Bush’s strong response to the September 11 attacks. McKinnon did not back down to questions from the Washington Post and others, stating, "obviously 9/11 was the defining moment of these times," and that the president's response to attacks "are important parts of this administration's record." (WP 3/4/2004)

According to Broadcasting and Cable magazine, McKinnon is one of “a handful of players behind every big decision, consensus or roadblock in Washington…putting a unique, sometimes hidden stamp on the outcome of today’s debates.”

George W. Bush says of McKinnon, “I was really impressed by Mark’s creativity, and I was particularly impressed by his honesty.” Senator John McCain, in his typical straight-talk fashion, remarks, “He’s almost a genius.”

In addition to helping engineer five winning Republican presidential primary and general-election campaigns, he was appointed by President Bush to serve as a governor of the Broadcasting Board of Governors. An award-winning media producer and communications strategist, McKinnon has been awarded more than 30 Pollie and Telly awards, honoring the nations best political and public affairs advertising.

Jim Rubens is considered by many to be the leading conservative thinker in the first-in-the-nation Presidential Primary state. He is a serial entrepreneur and investor by profession and has a long history of taking an early lead in tough political fights.

Jim Rubens has lived in New Hampshire for over 40 years, with his wife, Susan, and son, Matthew. Jim attended Dartmouth College where he studied chemistry and focuses his investments in New England start-ups in proprietary technology and healthcare solutions.

In his first run for office, Jim defeated the sitting State Senate President. During his two terms in office, he led efforts to launch electricity competition, charter schools, secret ballot voting on town and schools budgets, and victim restitution. He has chaired the state GOP platform committee, the Granite State Coalition Against Expanded Gambling, and ran for US Senate in 2014.

His service on the Board of Take Back Our Republic Action Fund is consistent with his political history of challenging the establishment when it strays from conservative ideals.

“If I can facilitate that by helping to give more people a voice in the political process, then that’s something I’m proud to be a part of,” said Rubens, who was drawn to the Action Fund's push for tax credits for small political contributions, and strongly believes that coupling more small donors with greater disclosure by large donors will make elected officials focus on their constituents and the national interest rather than special interests.

Teneo Holdings

In a 2011 article, The New York Times described this partner of George W. Bush’s Attorney General as the “consummate political insider”. In complete agreement, Bloomberg news when profiling her in September 2012, said, “She brings Washington power players together in a way others can’t match. If you’re looking for the right introduction in D.C., you need to know Juleanna Glover.”

With an impressive background in both public and government affairs, Ms. Glover served on the senior staffs of then President-elect George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Mayor Rudy Giuliani, presidential candidate Steve Forbes, and then Senator John Ashcroft. She advised Senator John McCain in his 2008 bid for the White House, traveling with him.

Glover has advised major corporate clients with high stakes public and government affairs challenges in a myriad and diverse range of issues. She has more than twenty years’ experience working on some of the most important government policy debates, high profile political campaigns and corporate controversies in the U.S. and abroad. Currently, Ms. Glover serves as the Managing Director of Teneo Intelligence.

Ms. Glover holds a master’s degree in public administration from George Mason University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Marymount University. She was a Fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

The oldest of 9 children growing up in a 3 bedroom house in inner city Richmond, VA, John Pudner learned at a young age the importance of timing, negotiating and diplomacy.

More importantly, he learned how to live on a shoe-string budget. Those early life lessons helped put him on the national political scene when in the 2014 primaries, he jump-started the campaign of Dave Brat, who would ultimately unseat U.S. Majority Leader Eric Cantor in one of the most unprecedented upsets in political history.

Later in the general election of the same year, he would help defeat a 32-year incumbent state senator in Alabama’s general election. He managed campaigns for almost three decades. His now-famous strategy of outsmarting instead of outspending the opposition was born out of a hobby of extrapolating statistical data on sports teams. With an affinity for numbers and grassroots initiatives, John became known as the go-to-guy to help upstart candidates that didn’t have the financial backing needed to play in the political sandbox.

During his career, he won 3 out of every 4 races in which he was involved. But through all his successes, John Pudner saw firsthand the influence of money on politics—the manipulation of the system and the loopholes that didn’t favor a transparent election— one in which only select major corporate donors and union bosses were the true winners.

With a desire to now recreate, John Pudner will lead this team of ex-political wonks to help change the very industry in which they once thrived.
